The Tropical Institute of Earth and Environmental Research (TIEER) was established and recognized as an Academic and Environmental Research NGO in 2007 by our beloved student and teacher of Geography, Professor Dr. Sudip Dey of Tripura University, who is no longer with us. He passed away suddenly on the academic campus at Tripura University during his teaching profession.

We are publishing an edited journal written by renowned Geographers in India, covering earth and environment, participatory rural development, biodiversity study with different environmental problems and prospects. The organisation has been performing as Consultant and Research group for the sustainable rural development, Environment management, skill development among the common people and technology transfer in agricultural activity among the backward SC/ ST village community. TIEER is organising different campaigning programmes by holding workshops, national and International seminar, conferences in collaboration with higher institutions involving scientists, geographers, research scholars and village community for enhancing capability and sustainability.

Our learned member- researchers contributing different aspects like sustainable rural development approaches like community forest management, sustainable tourism progress, vegetable production by organic method, fishing and animal preservation, sustainable agricultural production system in the drought prone areas of Jhargram district, planning of urban and rural development, nurturing the adopted village people in different sustainable method, green campus development and biodiversity planning preservation etc.

A group of expert scientists and researchers are coordinating their expertise consultancy for suggestion, alternative approaches towards environmental progress. Our group is involved environmental green audit, energy audit, rain water harvesting and water management, waste management technology in the higher education institutions and preparation of report for purposes NAAC visit and quality assessment.

We are now in touch of impact assessment of changing scenario by global warming with future practice and planning consultancy. The organization has been attached as Research Partner and members of TIEER have been engaged as Chief Scientist, Co Scientist, Researchers and surveyor in UN-SDGs-2030 Forest restoration project and Carbon credit project in Guinea Republic, West Africa
